In line with their continued expansion in the Australian market, they are seeking a Project Development Manager - Grid-Connected Wind to join their dynamic team.
This role is pivotal in driving the successful development of grid-connected wind projects, from inception through to completion.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Australian energy market and a proven track record in project management within the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end development of grid-connected wind projects across Australia.
Identify, assess, and secure suitable sites for wind energy development.
Manage feasibility studies, including resource assessments and grid connection studies.
Oversee the planning, environmental approvals, and permitting processes.
Engage and negotiate with landowners, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.
Coordinate with engineering teams to optimise project design and infrastructure.
Prepare and manage project budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental policies.
Collaborate with financial teams to secure project funding and manage commercial contracts.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring milestones are met.
Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative working environment.
Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
Stay updated on industry trends, policy changes, and technological advancements.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in project management within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind energy.
Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, grid-connected wind projects in Australia.
Comprehensive understanding of the Australian energy market, including regulatory frameworks and grid connection processes.
Strong knowledge of environmental approvals, permitting, and land acquisition processes.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with renewable energy financing and commercial contracts.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
