About the role We are currently seeking a Project Lawyer with a minimum of 6 years' post admission experience to join one of our projects in Australia.

The role includes being an integral member of the project Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and contributing to key project leadership and reporting meetings / decisions.
Reporting to the Project Director and functionally to the Head of Legal, your role will promote the delivery of a successful project and involve ownership and responsibility for the project's legal services including for the following, Key Responsibilities: Strategic legal advice , providing the Laing O'Rourke executive and senior project leadership with legal advice on strategic matters and ad hoc issues arising from time to time to support to the 'live' project.
Project set up and ensuring bid mitigation strategies are transferred and administered through the project set up.
Procurement strategy including setting up the supply chain agreements with head contract pass throughs and assisting Commercial and Procurement teams with supply chain contract negotiations.
Head contract compliance , assisting with the preparation of guidance and template documents for the administration of the head contract and working with Commercial to ensure effective contract administration and compliance during the project.
Compliance , including providing support to Laing O'Rourke and the project to ensure compliance with key contractual and business processes.
Claims and entitlement strategy , working with the project to develop and implement the strategy for ensuring the business successfully identifies, pursues and recovers its contractual entitlements in a proactive manner.
Training , including identifying and implementing a training plan for the project to ensure the head contract is understood and being administered correctly as well other key areas for the project (security of payment, Code compliance (with IR), supply chain negotiation etc).
There will also be opportunities in broader business priorities and strategic initiatives.
About you To be successful in the role, you will have: A current Australian practising certificate and a minimum of 6 years' post admission experience.
In-house experience and experience in delivering large-scale building or infrastructure projects with top-tier constructors would be well regarded.
A good working knowledge of construction law and experience advising 'live' construction and engineering projects.
Some experience and capability in contractual claims / disputes and formal dispute processes including adjudication, arbitration and litigation will be favourably considered.
The ability to work autonomously as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
A pragmatic and practical approach which is solutions focussed.
