Position Overview : We are seeking a Qualified Driller with a Class 2 or Class 3 Waterwell Licence to lead a drilling rig and crew.
The role will involve managing the rig, overseeing drilling operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the health and safety of the team.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in drilling techniques, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes on every project.
Key Responsibilities : Lead a rig and supervise a small crew, including training and mentoring of offsiders.
Organize equipment and materials for each bore, ensuring readiness for drilling operations.
Oversee rig maintenance and the servicing of support vehicles and equipment.
Manage a range of drilling techniques.
Install pump bores, including multiple aquifer bores, and be proficient in cement grout techniques.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and complete all required health and safety paperwork.
Maintain daily logs and communicate job progress to stakeholders.
Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Handle bore abandonment procedures and grouting techniques for production bores.
Qualifications & Skills : Class 2 or Class 3 Waterwell Licence with applicable endorsements for rotary mud drilling.
At least 3 years of drilling experience, including experience in Waterwell drilling, geothermal wells, or resource exploration.
Certification in Drilling Operations (Cert III or willingness to obtain with company support).
Valid heavy vehicle driver's license or higher.
Demonstrated knowledge of mud systems, single and multiple aquifer production bores, and cementing techniques.
Ability to record daily operations, mentor offsiders, and troubleshoot mechanical issues on site.
Strong mechanical aptitude for drilling equipment and plant maintenance.
