of Vacancy: One Hours: Full-time/ Part-time (0.8 FTE negotiable) Location: Melbourne Pay rates: SCHADS 4 + based on experience + Salary Packaging + Superannuation ABOUT THE ORGANISATION in Touch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence (in Touch) provides person-centered, integrated and culturally responsive family violence services to people from migrant and refugee communities across Victoria.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Employment and Education Practitioner will work directly with in Touch clients across our Recovery Program service continuum, to develop and implement initiatives to improve education, training, and employment outcomes for victim/survivors moving beyond family violence.
Key focus areas include: Ensure the effective delivery of education and employment services: Support clients to identify their education and employment goals and access relevant opportunities.
Program Planning and Quality Improvement: Plan, support and deliver programs, embedding quality monitoring and evaluation practices.
Support and Response Activities: Collaborate with teams to support integrated approaches for victim/survivor best outcomes.
Programs: Develop, support, and deliver education, economic & employment programs.
Stakeholder and Relationship Support: Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
Program Administration: Provide administrative support, including managing referral requests and data entry.
Professional Documentation and Compliance: Maintain professional documentation and comply with organisational policies.
Collaborative Practice: Work closely with the Recovery Programs Manager and other staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Safety Culture and Professional Development: Promote a safety culture and attend relevant training.
Cultural Sensitivity and Continuous Improvement: Undertake all interactions in a culturally sensitive manner.
ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT Key Selection Criteria An appropriate tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3+ years' work experience in the employment and education sector.
Demonstrated record of successful placement of clients into employment.
Demonstrated expertise in planning and facilitating individual programs.
A high level of initiative to proactively engage stakeholders.
Experience working within a recovery-oriented service using trauma-informed approaches.
Crisis management skills including assessing risk and safety.
A sound knowledge of issues facing women from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience engaging with refugee and migrant communities.
Demonstrated event management experience.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Strong communication skills with a broad range of stakeholders.
Exceptional time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
Counselling skills/qualifications.
