Environmental / Regulatory Advisor We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Environmental / Regulatory Advisor to work with an Oil and Gas Industry leader, based at Docklands or Sale, with some travel to on-site locations.
To be successful in this position, you will have extensive experience in stakeholder management within the environmental regulatory space.
You will work with a range of external and internal stakeholders to represent the interest of our client and ensure that issues are handled in a timely and effective manner.
The Environmental/Regulatory Advisor is the single point of contact for all environmental and regulatory matters and is responsible for the coordination and oversight of environmental and regulatory programs, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning aspects.
Duties Include: Develop and implement the project's Regulatory Compliance Plan and Environmental Management Plan.
Assist the SHE Manager in supporting E&R activities, identifying best practices, and implementing lessons learned.
Obtain necessary project permits, licenses, and approvals; track and manage the approval process and compliance status.
Collaborate with EPC contractors to ensure the development of E&R plans and provide input for cost and schedule estimates related to regulatory compliance.
Engage with stakeholders through reports, consultations, and community meetings, and manage stakeholder feedback and advocacy plans.
Skills and Qualifications: University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences (e.g., anthropology, sociology), Engineering, or a related technical field.
Previous experience in a closely related position, preferably within a construction or extractive industry project.
Proven experience working with regulators and preparing regulatory submissions.
Demonstrated understanding of the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act.
Knowledge of external project financing and Australian regulations is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
