The Opportunity The Reliability Technical Lead will support the reliability, IWS & operations teams working closely with all departments to improve performance and ensure availability of the lines meet the standard, eliminate systematic failures, ensuring all servicing & preventative maintenance activities are completed on time as well as supporting with technical issues that may arise.
It will also support the sites' preventative reliability programs and minor capital projects as well as be a key driver of improvement plans & projects for the UHT department.
Safety & Quality : Ensure safety and quality assurance for all staff, business, contractors, and customers, contributing to a world-class safety culture.
Equipment Management : Develop and implement standard operating procedures for equipment servicing, coaching teams in troubleshooting, and addressing downtime issues through root cause analysis (RCA).
External Service Providers : Collaborate with external service providers, approving their work methods and integrating their services into internal systems.
Preventative Maintenance : Oversee equipment servicing through MEX, ensuring parts availability, proper documentation, and equipment safety before operations resume.
Flexibility & Support : Provide after-hours technical support and maintain flexibility in work hours based on equipment service needs and site issues.
Plant Improvements & Failure Analysis : Conduct design reviews, manage capital works, commission improvements, and investigate plant/product failures while developing improvements for underperforming equipment.
What you'll bring Engineering or trade qualification with at least 3 years of experience in food manufacturing, particularly in filling, packaging, and UHT processing.
Proven skills in troubleshooting technical issues and mentoring reliability technicians, with strong communication, written, and planning abilities.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, and TRACC.
Experience in GMP manufacturing environments, preferably in dairy or food manufacturing.
Automation experience and ability to coach and develop teams in site automation systems is highly desirable.
Leadership abilities, with a passion for inspiring and empowering teams, ensuring accountability, and fostering a collaborative, results-driven approach.
Effective decision-making skills while maintaining high safety and quality standards, with the ability to provide on-call support when required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of quickly building rapport with various stakeholders, and excelling in a fast-paced environment.
Independent, action-oriented self-starter with a focus on working smarter, debating important issues, delegating responsibilities effectively, and maintaining agility in work practices.
