Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC – Ararat VIC Utilise your Prison and Corrective Services expertise to provide support and advice to Corrections Victoria at Hopkins Correctional Centre A Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service until 30th June 2026 About the Business Unit: Hopkins Correctional Centre (HCC) is a medium security prison located at Ararat, Victoria for prisoners with protection requirements and prisoners on remand.
About the Role: The Remand Programs Facilitator is part of the Vocational Services Team at HCC.
Reporting to the Reintegration Services Supervisor, the Remand Program Facilitator is primarily responsible for the coordination and facilitation of a suite of programs for remand prisoners along with associated administrative tasks that support prisoners' preparation for release.
The role of the Vocational Services Team is to prepare prisoners for release and to enhance post release employment opportunities through integrated on the job training, targeted educational opportunities and personal development programs and activities.
The Remand Program Facilitator will work within the HCC reintegration team and will be required to work closely with ATC's and other reintegration staff to address the specific needs of remand prisoners.
Some of your duties will include: Establishing and maintaining appropriate data collection and monitoring processes for program delivery that includes referrals, scheduling, program attendance records and adherence to the remand service delivery model Liaising and consulting with contracted providers delivering pre- and post-release services, and referring individual prisoners to CV Reintegration Pathway, according to eligibility requirements Developing and contributing to informed program planning and program delivery within the region.
About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Experience in facilitation of psycho-educational programs to individuals and groups Experience in and/or understanding of working within a correctional environment Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners Demonstrated ability to administer risk assessment tools with individual prisoners Demonstrated capacity or aptitude to work with clients who are difficult to engage individually and in group work settings.
Qualifications/Requirements: Expertise in programs and service delivery/coordination within a correctional environment is highly desirable.
