0 .6 FTE role until November 2027 based in Camperdown campus An integral part of the Research Function of a long-term project Base Salary $80,037 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity In this role as a Research Assistant, you will provide essential support to the project manager in coordinating and executing various research activities.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with expense tracking, data management, data cleaning, and organizing meetings and travel arrangements.
You will also contribute to the early stages of executing a funded project, maintain the integrity of research data, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders and participants.
Additionally, you will assist in preparing data for presentations and reports, working under routine supervision to prioritize tasks, resolve minor operational issues, and provide advice reviewed by senior staff.
This position is funded under the MRFF Indigenous Health Research grant.
Preference will be given to applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent.
This Exemption is claimed under Section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Assist in the coordination and execution of routine research tasks, ensuring adherence to research protocols and data accuracy.
Support a funded project by assisting with gathering necessary data, documentation, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
Manage data collection, entry, and storage, while maintaining basic research records for consolidation into reports and presentations.
Serve as the point of contact for project participants, investigators, and stakeholders to gather feedback and address concerns.
Administer purchasing, payment, and invoice processes, and contribute to maintaining accurate data within university systems.
Participate in team-based risk assessments, ensuring safety measures are applied and assisting with minute-taking and stakeholder engagement.
Make travel arrangements and provide other operational support for project participants, investigators, and stakeholders.
About you Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience working with First Nations people and community is desirable.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage time and tasks efficiently.
Proficient in computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and research software; familiarity with Concur, Power BI, and research ethics portals is desirable.
Experience in conducting scientific literature searches, managing research data, and assisting with funded projects; desirable background in working within research-intensive environments, including research administration and higher education.
Demonstrated ability to engage in effective teamwork and collaboration.

This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
