The Opportunity Join Monash University's Exercise Physiology and Environment Health Research Laboratory as a Research Officer and contribute to a ground-breaking project aimed at improving cycling infrastructure.
This role supports a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Ideas Grant, working to develop novel tools that measure people's experiences while riding and help design infrastructure that promotes cycling for diverse populations.
You will project manage and conduct physiological experiments using a virtual reality (VR) bike simulator, perform data analysis, and contribute to the overall research effort.
This role involves specialized equipment use, procedure development, and maintaining compliance with research protocols.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and conduct physiological experiments using the VR bike simulator Coordinate ethics submissions, participant recruitment, and trial management Perform data collection, input, and analysis, preparing results in line with research objectives Ensure compliance with research methodology, protocols, and safety regulations Assist in preparing reports, literature reviews, and other documentation Support the achievement of research outcomes through scheduling, administering experiments, and maintaining project timelines Continuously improve research procedures and quality assurance standards Maintain communication with colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders to support research objectives Key Selection Criteria: Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or substantial relevant work experience Strong analytical and technical skills, including data analysis and effective use of technical methods Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Demonstrated project administration experience in supporting research projects Ability to work independently and as part of a team under general supervision Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and understanding of confidentiality principles Well-developed communication skills, with experience drafting documentation and reports High level of computer literacy, including experience with new software packages Experience in physiological monitoring and conducting human experiments Apply today to join an innovative team working at the forefront of health and mobility research!
