Warakirri Asset Management Ltd (Warakirri) is a leading Australian funds manager and offers specialist investment vehicles and services to retail and wholesale investors with a focus on ethical investment, actively managed equities and agriculture. Warakirri also acts as investment manager for a number of agricultural entities that have operations across row-crop, dairies and cotton operations. You will report to the Head of Compliance and Risk, a valued Manager of Warakirri for the past 10 years. You will work in a collaborative team of 3. Together, you will elevate all Risk Management and Reporting processes and bring the function to the next level. We offer flexible working arrangements. Job Description About your new job In your new position, you will be entrusted with overseeing and managing our organisation's risk landscape, with a strong emphasis on the implementation and enhancement of our risk management framework. You are key in refining, further developing, and executing the overall Risk Management Strategic plan for the next 3 – 5 years. Further key responsibilities include: Implement and enhance the risk management framework, including the ongoing integration of our enterprise risk management system. Foster a proactive risk culture across the Warakirri Group, offering advice and support to each business as needed. Support risk owners and the 1st line of defence in conducting regular reviews, ensuring the effectiveness and documentation of risk profiles and internal controls. Develop, execute, and document a controls assessment and testing framework, recommending enhancements across the organisation. Establish and maintain key risk indicators, reporting on them regularly, and defining remedial actions in collaboration with the business. Prepare detailed risk analysis reports for each business, and manage the quarterly review and reporting on risk trends and treatment progress to the Executive Leadership Team and risk committee. Strengthen the internal risk control environment by assisting businesses in continuously improving controls and processes, including root cause analysis of issues and incidents. Manage annual Business Impact Assessments, defining critical business processes and key controls to ensure operational resilience with appropriate contingencies in place. Qualifications About you Strong experience (5 – 7 years) in Risk Management, Compliance, Assurance, or Internal Audit, with proven expertise in risk management assessments and mitigation strategies. Preferably you bring your Risk and Compliance Management experience from asset management and/or agriculture, or a similar industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly motivated, energetic, and capable of working autonomously. Ability to apply problem-solving, creative, and strategic thinking to managing compliance. Ability to perform under tight deadlines.
