Organisation: Department of Transport and Planning Reference: 4717 Job posted: 17/09/2024 Closes: 23/09/2024 Classification: VPSG4 Salary Range: $95,102 - $107,905 About the Role The Road Development Lead role develops and submits pavement resurfacing, pavement rehabilitation, and pavement marking programs by engaging in project management and risk management to coordinate the planning, work scheduling, and resource management in accordance with relevant policies and toolkits.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to educate, influence, and negotiate ensuring project proposals consider the needs of all stakeholders and are developed within corporate guidelines and timeframes.
The Road Development Lead will coordinate and manage pavement programs, including resurfacing, rehabilitation, and marking, by applying project and risk management techniques.
They will use their professional judgment to develop and implement periodic road maintenance and restoration works, ensuring adherence to project scope, quality, time, safety, and environmental standards.
Additionally, they will create innovative solutions for complex pre-construction and delivery challenges and assist in preparing high-quality project proposals in line with corporate guidelines.
The role also involves preparing and administering contracts for road maintenance works and ensuring all activities comply with relevant policies and standards.

Qualifications and Experience Mandatory Experience in developing road maintenance programs/delivering road maintenance or similar infrastructure projects.
A relevant tertiary degree in engineering, project management, or significant and equivalent experience.
