Position Overview As the Sales Director / Sales Manager, you will spearhead the sales team (help build), focusing on driving growth and profitability for the company's diverse stone product line.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing sales strategies, managing key accounts, overseeing market expansion, and achieving ambitious sales targets.
This role demands a blend of technical expertise and strategic business development skills, making you a critical player in the success of product sales.
You will cultivate new business opportunities, collaborating closely with newly developed departments such as marketing and operations to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
Salary for this role may be split with the potential for profit share.
Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute strategies to increase wholesale sales in the construction/stonemason industry.
Drive the specification rate of products within the designer and builder communities.
Performance Management: Take responsibility for the development and delivery of sales, margin, and performance targets across Victoria.
Collaborate with the executive team to formulate a comprehensive national business plan.
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the activities and results of Managers and their associated sales teams, including field sales representatives, customer service staff, and showroom staff.
Ensure the performance and professional development of Account Managers and Sales staff.
Account Management: Own key national customer and partner accounts, including stone masons, new home builders, kitchen companies, and specifiers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance business growth and customer satisfaction.
Operational Oversight: Manage daily sales and commercial team activities using relevant CRM systems to ensure effective tracking and performance monitoring.
Monitor the performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for the Directive.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and operational challenges to the Directive.
Utilise data-driven insights to optimise sales strategies and achieve business objectives.
Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of sales leadership experience, preferably within the stone or construction industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing large teams.
Strong understanding of sales processes, margin management, and performance metrics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Skills & Competencies: Deep knowledge of the stone industry and market trends.
Strong relationship-building skills with clients and industry professionals.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in CRM systems and data analysis.
