The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About The Role
The Senior Adviser, Graphic Design creates visuals that resonate with audiences. As part of the Digital Communications team, you'll work alongside specialists in social media, web content and strategic communications to produce a wide range of engaging work. This includes print and social campaign creative, icons, infographics, long-form layouts, reports, and other digital and print designs.
Brand governance and advocacy are central to this role. The department's design and brand outcomes must be customer-centric and strategically aligned with whole-of-government and departmental priorities and branding, accessibility, and inclusivity requirements.
This position will need to be able to quickly identify and deliver product solutions, as well as adjust to changing circumstances in a timely manner.
This role has one direct report and will build and maintain professional relationships with executive and staff across the department, as well as divisional colleagues. This role also plays an important part in helping to create a safe and respectful workplace environment and support staff with development opportunities.

As Our Ideal Candidate, You Will
Create compelling, high-quality visual design solutions across a range of DGS channels to support the delivery of department initiatives in alignment with whole-of-government and department priorities.
Act as the department's brand lead, in partnership with the Manager of Digital Communication, to ensure the customer-centric design and brand outcomes comply with whole-of-government and departmental branding, accessibility and inclusion requirements.
Drive the creation of an exciting, engaging user experience for staff, customers and the community through the effective use of design outcomes while leveraging innovative and cost-effective approaches.
About you
We're Looking For Someone Who Brings
In-depth understanding of brand design, governance and application with demonstrated experience working and innovating within an overarching brand environment.
Extensive experience and proficiency in the design development and delivery of highly engaging visual solutions for a range of digital and print channels.
Extensive experience in the application of professional design principles, including editorial, accessibility, layout and publishing standards and conventions.
Highly proficient skills in Adobe Creative and Microsoft Office suites, including demonstrated knowledge relevant to the formatting of print-quality reports, high-quality presentations and digital activations.
Mandatory requirements
Experience working in a senior role in a creative studio or related field.
