The Opportunity The Senior Adviser, Social Value and Inclusion will be responsible for developing policy to help generate community acceptance of and support for Victoria's future Renewable Energy Zones (REZs).
The position will be responsible for developing 'place-based' policy and programs to deliver benefits to communities and Traditional Owners under the Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF).
Reporting to the Manager, Social Value and Inclusion, this position will play a pivotal role in engaging with key stakeholders across Vic Grid in the design of initiatives that will deliver the Victorian Government's new REZ benefit sharing plan.
In addition, they will develop briefing packs for Ministers, stakeholders, and other parts of government, and provide internal advice on measures to help increase acceptance of renewable energy and transmission infrastructure.
What you will deliver Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, strategies, programs, and initiatives to deliver value and benefit to communities and Traditional Owners as a result of Victoria's transition to renewable energy.
Manage complex and time-critical projects, recognising barriers and developing effective solutions to deal with them.
Actively managing risks and working with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of tasks.
Deliver inputs into the development and implementation of 'place-based' policy and program design to recognise the role that host communities and landholders play in supporting REZs through delivering positive social outcomes.
Proactively identify potentially significant political and program risks associated with REZ development.
Identify mitigation measures to address these risks and manage these to a resolution, escalating issues as required.
Identify recurring problems and options to prevent future recurrence by integrating solutions into work processes.
What you will bring A collaborative working style and well-established interpersonal skills.
An understanding of government, public policy, legislative, and parliamentary processes.
Experience in delivering outcomes in challenging and complex policy, regulatory, and/or technical environments with government and non-government stakeholders.
An appropriate tertiary qualification in social policy or similar field.
Other relevant information Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a National Police Check.
