Senior Asset Manager (Electrical Engineer)
In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life. As caretakers for Melbourne's water cycle, we care for water, life and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.
Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet, run through a backyard sprinkler, or kayak down the Yarra—we're there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world's cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home —just as we have for over 130 years.
If you value making it count, diving in with curiosity, and doing what's right, you're in the right place.
About the Role
Reporting to Johanna Gladman, Manager Service Enablement Water Treatment, this is a pivotal role within the Service Enablement One Water department. As the Senior Asset Manager, you will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that has responsibility for the asset management and capital project development for all of Melbourne Water's drinking water treatment plants.
You will be a Registered Electrical Engineer, ideally with asset management experience and familiar with the water industry assets, such as motor control centres, transformers, HVNLV switchboards, protection relays, and electric motors.
You will have accountability for determining the strategic maintenance requirements for electrical assets and undertake condition and monitoring activities for all assets across the portfolio.
Your skills and experience will include:
Detailed knowledge of Electrical Engineering and operational complexities of water and sewerage transfer and treatment plants.
Experience in asset management of water and/or sewerage assets in the relevant disciplines.
Senior technical capability and leadership in the field of Electrical Engineering.
Well-developed knowledge and proven application of technical and general risk management processes and techniques related to large and medium scale infrastructure.
Ability to critically explore and analyse solution options and evaluate consequences of different risk scenarios and implement appropriate cost-effective risk management techniques.
This role requires travel to the various Melbourne Water sites when required, and you must be willing to do this. If you are motivated to apply your professional skills to large assets and large projects, working for a high public profile and iconic organisation, we welcome your application!
