About the Role Due to unprecedented urban growth Melbourne Water is forming a new project team of Senior Asset Managers to ensure the registration of new and existing assets.
Reporting to Jo Hunt, these are pivotal roles within the Service Enablement Catchments and Waterways department.
As the Senior Asset Manager, you will be responsible for: Providing expert advice and technical direction in developing and applying management regimes that assess and understand risk, protect and improve the condition and function of developer constructed storm water quality treatment systems and constructed waterway assets, and retarding basins.
Developing, applying and communicating relevant approaches for prioritising the maintenance program for developer constructed assets.
We are seeking experienced Asset Managers who can work at the senior level.
Successful candidates will have substantial experience in asset rich workplaces, strong capability in data gathering and analysis, assessing risks, asset registration and maintenance in civil, waterway, dam, and headworks.
Key requirements include: Experience in relevant aspects of Retarding Basin and dam safety management processes and engineering principles, or experience in environmental aspects of stormwater quality treatment systems.
Experience in developing effective networks in a diverse and complex multiagency delivery environment.
Experience working with asset management processes and procedures.
Experience in dams asset management and familiarity with the ANCOLD guidelines as applied to retarding basins is a bonus, or experience in geomorphology or waterway engineering is a bonus.
Good problem solving and analytical skills which add value to business and customers.
Proven communication and negotiation skills.
Extensive coordination, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver on long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges within tight timeframes.
Proven judgment working in a complex and multi-agency environment.
