Your next exciting job opportunity – The Senior/ Associate Principal Environmental Approvals Consultants in Sydney, Melbourne or Tasmania will provide expertise, leadership, ingenuity and judgement in the water and environment field.
The Senior / Principal Environmental Approvals Consultant will grow the business through strategic business development and promotions.
They will act as Project Manager and/or technical expert and work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality environmental projects, with a focus on environmental impact assessments and regulatory approvals.
Key Responsibilities: Have expertise in their field with strong technical capability in environmental investigations, assessment, planning and approvals.
Provide strategic and statutory environmental advice to clients in a variety of sectors, with a focus on coastal and maritime infrastructure works.
Build upon existing and develop new client relationships to further the APAC environment business.
Provide technical advice, leadership and mentoring within the national BMT environment team.
In this role you will be able to: Liaise with potential and current clients for the purposes of work generation, service delivery and business development.
Perform high quality and professional technical work requiring a high degree of independence and judgement.
Serve as a technical specialist in the areas of environmental approvals, environmental assessment and project management.
Give technical and business advice to management and business delivery teams.
Supervise and review the work of external consultants and team members.
Share knowledge and act as mentor within their area of expertise or across the business.
Review, prepare, review and submit proposals / tenders.
Project manage a range of projects to scope and within time, cost and quality requirements.
Contribute to thought leadership activities through their work and by regularly authoring papers, presenting at events, seminars and conferences, and social media posts.
Undertake specific technical tasks including but not limited to: Environmental policies and strategic advice Scoping and identification of stakeholders and issues Regulatory approvals Environmental impact assessments Environmental management plans Environmental risk assessments, using ISO 31000 Environmental planning and auditing Relevant Education, Experience, and Skills: Essential: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Planning, Engineering, or other relevant area of study.
More than 7 years' experience post-graduation.
Demonstrated experience in State environmental approvals regime and/or Commonwealth environmental approvals regime.
Willingness to learn new environmental approvals regimes.
Demonstrated experience in undertaking environmental assessments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong technical background in environmental consulting.
Demonstrated business development skills.
Desirable: Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
Experience working within the engineering or resources sector.
Post-graduate qualifications in environmental management or other relevant area of study.
Existing client network in environmental policy, assessment, and approvals.
