Building on the success of our pilot in 2024, the Sky Gardening Challenge in 2025 will support and encourage people across Greater Manchester to green their balconies and window boxes, as a way of urban communities connecting with nature.
This is a great chance to support the delivery of a dynamic public campaign, engaging competition, and support package, and contribute to nature-based programming at the forefront of the National Trust's work in cities.
What it's like to work here You'll be part of the Innovation and Partnership Team: a national team working with National Trust places and partners in cities to test practical, scalable and replicable ways of improving people's access to nature, beauty and history.
As one of a multidisciplinary team, you'll be working with internal specialists and operational teams, and external stakeholders and partners to help make great things happen.
Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust Manchester Hub.
Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places.
You'll be at a National Trust site for 40-60% of your working week.
What you'll be doing As Senior Communications & Marketing Officer, you would be accountable for planning, delivery, and evaluation of marketing and communications around Sky Gardening Challenge 2025 across Greater Manchester.
You'll own the comms plan and ensure this is delivered to time, quality, and budget, supporting the commissioning of content e.g.
videos, advice articles for digital/print collateral.
You'll be responsible for reviewing any design work and copy for digital & print collateral to ensure it aligns with National Trust tone of voice.
You will manage and update National Trust web pages related to Sky Gardening Challenge 2025, develop press releases for key comms moments and partner comms packs, and manage press enquiries ensuring PR opportunities are captured through photo/video in line with allotted budget.
You'll draft/collate and share any regular comms with participants e.g.
newsletters, and support evaluation by gathering stats around marcomms reach and impact.
Who we're looking for We will be looking for someone who has: Written and verbal communication skills with a good eye for presentation, and an ability to work within brand guidelines Experience of developing and delivering a multi-channel marketing campaign from planning to delivery to evaluation, and is comfortable managing issues that may have a reputational risk to the organisation Confidence in using digital and traditional marketing channels to reach different audiences, including web, social media, press releases, email, print Ability to build relationships and work with internal and external stakeholders and partners with flexibility, meaning a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure The package The National Trust has the motto 'For everyone, for ever' at its heart.
