Opportunity to help foster a culture of creativity and innovation Join us in shaping the future of our marketplace and making a significant impact in the industry Sydney CBD based with plenty of WFH flexibility We are seeking a highly skilled data engineer with a strong analytics mindset to design, automate, and optimise data pipelines and models on our GCP Big Query platform, enabling data-driven decision making to support partner / seller growth, internal operational efficiency and enhance customer proposition / experience.
What you'll do Design, build, and optimise data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from various sources, leveraging automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
Develop and maintain a scalable data warehouse on GCP Big Query to store structured and unstructured data, automating data ingestion and processing tasks.
Design and maintain data models that accurately represent business processes, support analytical needs and are optimised for real-time data processing and machine learning integration.
Implement and maintain dimensional models in the data warehouse using tools like dbt, ensuring consistency and scalability.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns and anomalies, automating repetitive analysis tasks to improve efficiency.
What you'll bring Experience with cloud-based data warehousing technologies (e.g., GCP Big Query, Azure Synapse, Redshift).
Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Python, Java and / or Scala.
Data Modelling Expertise: Proven ability to design and implement flexible and scalable data models that can accommodate the diverse needs of multiple portfolio businesses, while promoting standardisation and reusability.
Proficiency with SQL and No SQL databases.
Experience with real-time data stores (e.g., Apache Kafka, Redis) is desirable.
Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing data models that are optimised for analytical queries and reporting, ensuring data is easy to understand and use by analysts.
