Senior Data Solutions Engineer Permanent - Full Time (Flexible) Band 8 - $122,746.59 - $137,547.07+ super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only) Supportive and Friendly team environment where we value growth and development Hybrid/flexible working arrangements and an emphasis on work/life balance (3 days work from office) Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment The Senior Data Solutions Engineer will contribute to the development and maintenance of Councils' data ecosystem.
Reporting directly to the Data Services Lead, you will be a key part of the Data Services team.
You will be part of the broader Yarra Digital and Technology team, and work alongside Application, Infrastructure and Delivery teams, to deliver contemporary data solutions to our enterprise customers.
You will use your knowledge of data engineering to create data pipelines, using the tools and standards defined by the architecture team.
Ideally, you will also have experience with data modelling to support Data Architecture design and implementation of data models to meet various business needs.
You will be directly involved in the development of the new City of Yarra Data Integration Hub.
Also, you will provide business intelligence solutions to support evidence-based decision making for the organisation.
The successful candidate will possess: Extensive experience within Analytics Engineering roles which encompasses data capture, extract, transform and load, culminating in generation of valuable insights for stakeholders Experience creating analysis ready data sets, using tools such as Databricks, SQL and Python Clear communication skills, including the ability to articulate concise and relevant insights Experience with Azure services - Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Experience building and optimizing data transformation pipelines, doing data modelling and architecture, and creating data products Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
