Job Description Design & Build are currently working with a leading national tier 2 contractor who are looking to grow their Estimating team.
We are looking for a Senior Estimator with experience working on water and water infrastructure projects up-to the value of $10m to join the team.
What's On Offer Salary up-to $180k base Flexible working arrangements with multiple offices Robust pipeline of projects ensuring job security Continuous training & development Role & Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for taking an active role in the tendering of contracts through the analysis of plans, specifications, proposals and other data in preparing time, cost and labour first principles estimates for water capital works projects.
Including: Reviewing data to determine material and labour requirements and prepare itemised list; Computing cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes; Consulting with clients, vendors, designers and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues; Analysing completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs; Interfacing with stakeholders to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates; Communicating project information to delivery team; Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions; Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures; Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
About You This opportunity is ideally suited to as an Estimator on Water capital projects, ideally with some exposure to project delivery in a site role.
It will suit a highly motivated, and positive client outcome driven individual.
The successful candidate will require the below qualifications and experiences: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Training and Assessment are desirable.
Previous working experience in Learning and Development within Telecommunications organizations is desirable.
The ability to express and deliver on ideas, orally and in writing, to individuals and groups.
Bachelor level degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
Prior experience working within the Water and Gas sectors is essential.
Previous experience estimating civil construction projects.
Working knowledge and adherence to process for tendering, estimating and proposal procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Assurance, Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental practices.
