Full-time role (Monday-Friday)
How will I help?
The Financial Crime Surveillance (FCS) team is part of Westpac's Risk Division and is responsible for detecting, deterring and fighting financial crime. This role is part of the first line of defence for financial crime related risks such as anti-money laundering, sanctions, KYC and customer due diligence.
As a Senior Financial Crime Analyst, you'll bring your analytical skills and industry expertise to not only handle investigations but also to support and mentor other analysts. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of our financial crime prevention efforts, stepping in as a key delegate for managers, and ensuring that all cases are managed with the highest level of professionalism.
Your day to day will look like:
Advanced Investigations:
Perform sophisticated financial crime analysis, using your expertise to uncover and address suspicious activities.
Team Support:
Serve as a primary resource for analysts, offering guidance and assistance on complex cases.
Coaching:
Conduct peer reviews to ensure the quality and accuracy of investigative work performed by your team.
Managerial Delegation:
Act as the key delegate in the absence of managers, ensuring that operations continue smoothly and efficiently.
Reporting Assistance:
Support the preparation and management of reporting requests to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
What do I need?
Experience within banking or financial services.
You will bring at least 3 years' experience within Financial Crime.
Experience in coaching, training or mentoring team members will be highly regarded.
Proven ability to conduct thorough and systematic investigations into financial crime, including gathering and analysing evidence and preparing detailed reports.
Investigative mindset and strong analytical skills.
Critical thinking and the ability to interpret information and make decisions.
Comfortable working independently and managing your own case load.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy with ability to work with multiple systems with ease.
