About the Role Reporting to the Strategy & Performance Lead, the Senior Data Strategy Manager will be working with the Data LT to ensure that Australia Retail & Commercial have a clearly defined, competitive data strategy to enable these divisions to achieve their objectives.
The Senior Data Strategy Manager plays a key role in the development, definition and ongoing evaluation of the division's longer term (18-36 months) Data strategy and transformation priorities, supporting the Leadership Team with managing trade-offs relating to execution priorities, the identification of strategic risks, and options to manage changes in external market forces.
This role will also be required to align the Retail Data strategy to other Enterprise strategies e.g.
Data, Technology, Governance, AI, etc.
to ensure the Australian Retail & Commercial Data strategy is designed and managed in a holistic way.

Role Type: Permanent Role Location: Melbourne Work Hours: Full Time What will your day look like? As a Senior Data Strategy Manager, you will: Support the development and evolution of the division's data strategy (anchored in the longer term and working back) in consultation with the Data LT, Australia Retail & Commercial LT, Enterprise Data LT and other key stakeholders.
Research and review industry trends and macro influences to form a competitive, sustainable strategy which is then translated into core priorities for the division.
Rationalise and quantify the prioritisations and trade-offs required and measure the return on investment associated with choices the division will face (working in collaboration with Delivery & Investment Management and Performance Management).
Support the development and evolution of the division's long term transformation priorities and sequencing and major change programs.
Monitor, track and ensure the realisation of the division's strategy and priorities, and manage the strategic risks associated with the strategy.
What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Strategy Formulation and Development: Experience in defining, building and articulating business strategies for a large-scale organisation in line with broader organisational goals and targets.
Analysis and Problem Solving: Structured approach to strategic analysis, with ability to succinctly frame and solve strategic problems, using data.
Market Research and Analysis: Ability to translate external macro insights into considerations for competitive and compelling strategy formulation.
Strategic Risk Planning: Experience in identification, assessment, management of strategy related risks.
Commercial Acumen: High financial literacy, ability to read and understand financial statements, and recognise how different actions and strategies can impact profitability and revenue.
Communication Skills: Experience communicating complex ideas to senior audiences in simple, compelling ways.
Effective Collaboration: Working with others to solve business problems with the appropriate level of empathy and joint problem solving.
