Your Opportunity We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Environment & Sustainability to join our Corporate Affairs team, working with specialists across internal and external communications, government and regulatory affairs, social impact, and human rights.
In this in-house role, you will lead the delivery of KPMG Australia's own Climate Action Plan (CAP) commitments 2023 to 2030, including measurement and reporting against our environmental and sustainability performance.
As a leading provider of ESG services, we have a responsibility to look at the impact of our own operations and supply chain and to play our part in global decarbonisation and sustainability efforts.
We have set ambitious commitments and your primary focus will be to drive our progress against these, working with the firm's leadership and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include: Lead the delivery of KPMG's and drive progress against our five commitments and associated targets.
Provide specialist advice to support progress towards our CAP commitments.
Lead the process for identifying and managing climate-related impacts, risks, and opportunities for KPMG Australia.
Lead the delivery of our annual Climate Risk Report and Planet component of Our Impact Plan.
Present regular updates to the National Board, National Executive Committee, and Corporate Affairs leadership on the management of our climate risks and opportunities.
Deliver and continue to enhance KPMG's Nature Positive Challenge, working alongside client-facing teams to promote the initiative, coordinate the delivery of advisory support to winning ventures and organise events.
Drive internal engagement through networks including our Climate Action Taskforce, Green Champions Network, and Climate Action Committees.
Manage the measurement and reporting of KPMG Australia's overall sustainability performance including decarbonisation of our operations and supply chain, waste and circularity, employee engagement in sustainability initiatives, and impact on nature and biodiversity.
Manage our firmwide carbon emission reduction and carbon offset strategy, including our internal price on carbon (IPC) fund and associated initiatives.
Prepare annual technical submissions to a third party for limited assurance on our climate data.
Manage community partnerships and collaborate with community organisations and NGOs on climate resilience initiatives and the delivery of relevant general and skilled volunteering opportunities for our people.
Lead a direct report, to provide oversight of their work on climate and waste reporting and associated tools.
How are you Extraordinary? To be considered for this opportunity, your experience and skills should include: Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or Sustainability-related field.
Experience in design and delivery of environmental or sustainability performance within a large organisation.
Strong sustainability and environmental reporting skills including practical experience with non-financial reporting of greenhouse gas, climate, and environmental datasets (e.g.
Climate Active, TCFD, CDP).
Strong knowledge of global climate change and carbon developments including an understanding of frameworks (IPCC, GRI) and established and emerging standards (ISSA/ASRS, TNFD, SBTi etc).
Proficient presentation and stakeholder relations skills.
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels across an organisation.
Track record of leading projects with internal and external engagement and ability to oversee multiple concurrent complex projects.
