You will act as Project Manager and/or technical expert and work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality environmental projects, with a focus on environmental impact assessments and regulatory approvals.
The role will also see you contribute to local business development and have opportunities for remote work and hands-on field assignments.
Responsibilities: Conduct technically complex projects that form part of environmental impact and/or risk assessments.
Some may involve multiple organizations and/or disciplines.
Typically, your involvement would be from inception to completion.
Work collaboratively across both the local and broader BMT teams - in the Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane offices.
Manage a range of projects to scope and within time, cost, and quality requirements.
Actively share knowledge and expertise across the business.
Liaise with clients, potential and current, for the purposes of work generation, service delivery, networking, and business development.
Plan and execute field investigations.
Adhere to, and actively promote, quality, safety, and environmental procedures/standards.
Relevant Education, Experience, and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Marine/Environmental Science, or other relevant area of study.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
More than 5 years' relevant experience post-graduation.
Strong verbal and written communication and report writing skills.
Experience in and ability to undertake fieldwork.
Right to work in Australia with no restrictions.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies relating to marine conservation and management.
Postgraduate degree (Honours, Masters, Ph D) in a relevant field.
Experience working within the scientific, engineering, or resources sector.
Postgraduate qualifications in environmental management or another relevant area of study.
Experience in navigating State and Federal Legislation for impact assessments and approvals.
Willingness to conduct fieldwork in remote areas.
Demonstrated business development skills.
The ability to coach and mentor junior staff.
Demonstrated ability to manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
