About the role: As a Senior Network Planning Engineer (Electricity Grid), your role will involve leading the short to long-term power system planning and development of Jemena's electricity network to deliver safe, reliable, affordable energy and sustainable performance for all customers.
Key responsibilities will include: Perform power system assessment, network development options and scope preparation for major customer connection projects.
Strategic area planning using probabilistic planning, risk and cost-benefit economic evaluation assessments and report writing and presentations.
Perform power system feasibility study assessments.
Prepare Regulatory Investment Tests (RIT-D and RIT-T) and contribute to the Distribution Annual Planning Report and Transmission Connection Planning Report preparation.
Technical assessment of large embedded generation connection projects.
Provide technical leadership and support to network planning team members.
A little about you: Experience in the electrical industry with short to long-term system planning experience.
Proficiency in using electricity network power system software such as PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework, its obligations and instruments (such as NER, EDCo P, Australian Standards).
Qualifications and certifications: Tertiary qualifications and/or higher in Electrical Engineering (power system discipline is desirable).
