The West Gate Tunnel is a partnership between the Victorian Government and Transurban.
The Joint Venture has been chosen as the contractor for construction, which began in early 2018 following planning assessment.
About the Project Widening the West Gate Freeway from eight lanes to 12 between the M80 Ring Road and Williamstown Road Building a 2.8km eastbound tunnel and a 4km westbound tunnel under Yarraville Constructing a bridge over the Maribyrnong River providing an alternative to the West Gate Bridge Constructing an elevated road along Footscray Road to the Port of Melbourne Major new cycling and pedestrian paths Gender Diversity We aim to maximize the potential of all our people.

To achieve this, we are focused on: Embedding flexible work practices Providing development opportunities for our women Leaders championing and supporting our females to succeed Actively looking to attract and promote women into non-traditional roles and putting support structures in place to help them succeed The position As the Senior Project Engineer for the West Gate Tunnel your responsibilities will include: Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, and/or Cost/Planning Engineers Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilize corrective action in line with CPBJH JV authority and reporting frameworks to maximize the profit margin Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements About you To be successful you will ideally have the following experience and capabilities: Minimum 10 years electrical engineering experience preferably site-based Demonstrated experience in HV/LV reticulation and distribution systems, ITS, road/tunnel lighting systems and Control Systems design, installation, and commissioning Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Construction Management and Science, etc Experience using Aconex, Bluebeam would be preferred Proven experience working on Tier 1 projects, tunnelling and/or open road specific experience In return, we offer rewarding careers, genuine opportunities to develop and grow, and a workplace culture that values and recognizes effort and contribution.
