About the role Laing O'Rourke has recently been appointed as Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving andprotecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.
Laing O'Rourke arerecruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer to join the Suburban Rail Loop team based in Melbourne, VIC.

Key responsibilities Fully understand and interpret the quality requirements and deliverables for the project Assist the Project Quality Manager with the implementation of the Project Quality Plan and the development of quality related deliverables Assist in reviews of ITPs, NCRs, ITRs, Quality Management Plans, Subcontractor Contract Tenders and other quality documents.
Provide technical advice/support to the Project Quality Manager on quality related matters.
Guide the Delivery Team on Quality and completion processes Assist engineering team with preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists and work packs to ensure quality requirements are captured Coordinate closure and ensure completeness of all construction work packages Produce quality reports and manage the projects quality KPIs Conduct Quality meetings and trainings to Subcontractors and other functions Participate in Defect Inspections and Surveillances.
About you Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (ideally Civil) or Construction Management with Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent Significant technical experience within a project delivery environment.
Solid experience in Quality and Completion roles Technical knowledge to interpret drawings, specifications, and quality records Previous experience with Project Document Management Systems Has a can-do attitude and can work independently Internal Auditor Qualification Experience as a Lead Auditor is desirable but not mandatory Benefits We work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
