About you and the role John Holland has been leading the Level Crossing Removal Project in Melbourne since 2017 as part of the North Western Program Alliance (NWPA).
We've just been awarded a $560 million contract to build the new Melton Station and remove the level crossings at Coburns and Exford roads.
We're now looking for a Senior Safety Advisor to play a crucial role in developing and implementing a strong safety culture within the Alliance.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Provide Health and Safety specialist advice and technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal, contractual obligations and risks are identified and communicated appropriately.
Coordinate and conduct investigation into workplace incidents.
Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
Maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and clients.
Monitor and evaluate the project Health and Safety programs for value and effectiveness.
Evaluate, investigate and gather information that will address inadequacies concerning safety matters.
Review specific high risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work.
What we are looking for: Previous experience in a Senior Safety Advisor position on large infrastructure projects.
Safety experience within the rail environment is highly regarded.
Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
Knowledge and skills in safety management techniques and tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
