About you and the role Join our Infrastructure division and be part of the Hobson Bay Main Sewer Project team based in Spotswood and Port Melbourne.
We are looking for a Senior Safety Advisor to play a hands-on role in developing and implementing a strong safety culture throughout the project.
Project Scope: Rehabilitation of 2 existing Melbourne Water manholes, working on both East (Port Melbourne) and West (Spotswood) sites.
Rehabilitation includes the demolition of existing internal structures and relining the manhole with sprayed concrete.
Relining the existing Hobsons Bay Sewer, approximately 650m, that connects the two Manholes using GRP pipes.
GRP pipes will be 'installed using a hydraulic Jacking Frame, from the upstream manhole.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Provide Health and Safety specialist advice and technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal, contractual obligations and risks are identified and communicated appropriately.
Coordinate and conduct investigations into workplace incidents.
Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
Development and review of risk documents (TRA, AMS, WRA).
Monitor and evaluate the project Health and Safety programs for value and effectiveness.
Ensure that the works are completed in line with the JHG Safety Management system.
Review specific high risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work.
What we are looking for: Previous experience in a Senior Safety Advisor position on large infrastructure projects.
Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
Knowledge and skills in safety management techniques and tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
People focused with the ability to build strong relationships.
