Position Objectives To provide a strategic and coordinated response to renewable energy and transmission projects within the Shire.
This involves engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including state government and developers, providing communication and advocacy for council.
Key Responsibility Areas Provide advice to Councillors, the Executive Leadership Team, and other levels of government with respect to renewable energy and transmission projects, policy and plans.
Work collaboratively across Council to coordinate a strategic response to renewable energy and transmission projects and policy.
Engage with key external stakeholders such as Government Departments and agencies, developers, and the community.
Maintain regular communication to Councillors, the Executive Leadership Team and the community.
Monitor and support Council in seeking available funding opportunities related to renewable energy transmission.
Support Council's advocacy on renewable energy and transmission projects and policy.
Assist with Council's responsible authority requirements associated with approved renewable projects.
Undertake, as directed, additional duties within the incumbent's skill, competence, and training limits.
Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Planning or related discipline (e.g.
engineering, environment, etc).
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects.
Previous experience dealing with high profile or sensitive community issues is desirable.
Selection Criteria Tertiary qualifications in Planning (or a related discipline), and experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects.
Knowledge and experience working with the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation.
Highly developed communication skills and ability to analyse and clearly communicate complex information and processes.
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage workloads and competing demands.
Previous experience dealing with high profile or sensitive community issues.
Experience in aligning stakeholder engagement efforts with broader organisational goals.
Ability to navigate the complexities of multi-stakeholder environments, ensuring that engagement strategies align with the objectives and expectations of each stakeholder group.
