About us
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The Senior Visual Content Producer is part of a high performing team of professionals that is passionate about telling the stories that bring the department's work to life and uses best practice digital communication and multi-media to support the Victorian community. The role is responsible for creating high-quality video, animation and motion design communication for the department's channels and audiences. The role produces and oversees end-to-end video development from concept to production delivery, including ideation, scripting and storyboarding, with a focus on integrated, creative and engaging storytelling across a range of formats.
This role will lead a small team and build and maintain professional relationships with executive and staff across the department, as well as divisional colleagues. This role also plays an important part in helping to create a safe and respectful workplace environment and support staff with development opportunities.

As our ideal candidate, you will:
Lead the video function within the department in end-to-end development of video projects to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget; leverage innovative, cost-effective approaches and contribute towards an engaging user experience.
Create compelling, high-quality video and digital media outcomes that support the delivery of department initiatives in alignment with whole-of-government and department priorities.
Drive the creation of an exciting, engaging user experience for staff, customers, and the community by effectively using video while leveraging innovative and cost-effective approaches.
About you
We're looking for someone who brings:
Extensive industry experience in video production, including direction, filming, editing and post-production.
Extensive experience in concept development and storytelling, including ideation, visualisation, scripting, storyboarding and client presentations.
Demonstrated experience in animation and motion design, including extensive expertise in After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Demonstrated application of industry video standards in production and design, with an understanding of output formats, and digital publishing requirements and standards.
