THE ROLE The Solicitor role in the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office (Statewide CPLO) is responsible for providing legal advice, support and representation in child protection litigation matters in various courts including the Children's Court of Victoria, the Supreme Court of Victoria, and related jurisdictions.
You will work predominantly with one of Statewide CPLO's legal teams and will travel to various Children's Court locations and child protection offices.
This position is based with the Regional East team that supports divisional areas of Goulburn Valley and Ovens Murray.
The position can be located in either Shepparton, Wangaratta or Wodonga.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Provide well-reasoned legal advice, briefings and correspondence.
Collaborate with departmental colleagues to deliver client-focused legal services.
Appear or instruct in litigation involving the department in a wide range of courts and tribunals.
