The Opportunity Our client is seeking a Solicitor to join Australia's premier Band 1 Corporate M&A practice, working in the Private Equity & Venture Capital team.
In this role you will have exposure to some of the best and highest profile private capital transactions in Australia and the opportunity to collaborate with our global offices.
You will work closely with our Sydney partners as well as with partners in our Melbourne and Brisbane offices as part of our National PE and VC practices.
What you'll do Work across a range of corporate transactions including private M&A, private equity investments and exits (including trade sales, secondary buyouts), VC and growth equity capital raises from seed to pre-IPO, M&A for tech growth companies, both in Australia and cross border transactions.
Support senior associates and partners on transactions, including drafting and negotiating documents and leading due diligence workstreams.
Project manage transactions to ensure that key deadlines are met, and deliverables are anticipated, including working closely with other legal teams across the firm to deliver an integrated service to our clients.
Manage and build client relationships, including assisting with business development activities, events, pitching, marketing and thought leadership.
Advise on corporate law including securities disclosure exemptions and employee equity.
In addition, as part of a team that works for VC funded companies, you will have: Opportunities for direct client engagement and building client relationships from Day 1.
Exposure to a large number of clients across a broad range of sectors.
An earlier opportunity to run transactions end-to-end and to prepare and negotiate key transaction documents.
What you'll bring Tertiary qualifications in law and an unrestricted Australian or New Zealand practicing certificate.
Quality experience as a solicitor in a corporate or other transactional practice.
A desire and energy to contribute to a high performing team and to be stretched and challenged.
A curiosity about our clients, and eagerness to build relationships to support the growth and reputation of the practice.
