We are seeking a seasoned Solution Architect with extensive hands-on experience in telecommunications to join our technology strategy & architecture team.
This is a once in a career opportunity to influence the architecture of enterprise-wide systems technology landscape (from ordering, and provisioning right through to billing and operations).
It will be working with the latest technology and design patterns including event sourcing/choreography, microservices, and schema driven design.
As a hands-on Solution Architect, your key responsibility will be to design and implement innovative BSS/OSS solutions to transform our systems landscape.
It will be critical that you develop exceptional working relationships with software and network engineering teams who you will collaborate with for designing, building, and integrating ABB's future state technology.
To be successful in this role you will possess: More than 15 years of deep technology experience in the telecommunications industry.
Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect, Senior Technology Lead, or in a comparable technology solutions-focused role within the telecommunications industry.
Strong hands-on expertise in solution architecture, integration, and software development of BSS/OSS solution components.
Deep understanding of solutions and technologies suitable for: Party Management Domain - Sales & Opportunity Management, Quote & Contract Management, Customer Management, Loyalty Management, Billing, Rating & Charging, Payments, Channels Core Commerce Management Domain - Product Catalogue & Ordering, Product Assurance, Product Rating, Product Usage Production Domain - Service Catalogue, Service Order Management, Service Qualification, Service Inventory, Service Assurance, Service Quality Management, Change Management, Incident and Problem Management Proven experience of Product (Product Offer, Product Spec) & Service (CFS, RFS) Modelling Proven experience of implementing solutions leveraging TM Forum Open Digital Architecture using TMForum and MEF Open APIs.
Demonstrated experience in Service Oriented Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, and API First.
Thorough understanding of choreography or orchestration led design.
Evangelise good architecture and design practices across the organisation.

It will be critical that you develop exceptional working relationships with software and network engineering teams to collaborate with for designing, building, and integrating ABB's future state technology.
Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand and analyse their requirements, translating them into effective and scalable technology solutions using existing or new capabilities.
Understanding and co-owning the technology reference architecture for the organisation to align all the solutions.
Conducting options analysis and providing recommendations based on technology and business considerations.
Designing E2 E solution architecture to meet business requirements including solutions in ODA Party Management Domain, ODA Core Commerce Management Domain, and ODA Production Domain.
E2 E solution architectures must include detailed functional specifications, data architecture, integrations, and security design, allowing the Software Architects and System Integrators to focus on the technical execution of building, integrating, and testing the E2 E solution.
Developing and communicating Open API Specification aligning with TMF and MEF standards to support the solution integration.
Collaborating with Software and Network Engineering teams to create technical specifications and documentation.
Working closely with System Owners, Software/Network Architects, and Developers to ensure seamless implementation of solutions.
Contributing to the decision-making process for whether we should build or buy technology capabilities, requiring a strong understanding of software development and COTS solutions.
