About this role At the Department of Justice and Community Safety, we are recruiting for a variety of roles within the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) and are seeking Aboriginal people who are committed to making a difference and take pride in their work.
These roles will involve a range of responsibilities, including reviewing and approving applications for financial assistance, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and supporting Aboriginal victims of crime.
Other potential responsibilities include ensuring applications are ready for assessment, providing culturally appropriate advice and support to Aboriginal and other victims, and engaging directly with individuals and their support networks to assist in completing applications.

The opportunities There are currently various opportunities with the FAS for work in Aboriginal Prioritised/Designated roles, including: Aboriginal Assessor Aboriginal Intake & Triage Officer You are encouraged to register your interest if you identify as Aboriginal and have: relevant skills experience to the above roles demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it.
Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
