Job Description Position: Structural Design Engineer (Commercial) Location: Melbourne Salary: $100 K – $130 K An opportunity for a Structural Design Engineer (Commercial) to join a national engineering consultancy is currently available.
Your role will see you be involved in structural design of building projects focused in the commercial, retail, health, industrial, high rise and education sectors.
There are opportunities for training and development to work in other sectors if you desire.
What Areas Can You Make a Difference? Specialising in structural engineering design for commercial projects, encompassing all design facets.
Generating design sketches and detailed plans for technical staff to draft, while also supervising design evolution and documentation.
Collaborating with and coordinating among diverse stakeholders, including clients, local government entities, and regulatory authorities.
Ensuring timely project delivery and a high level of precision to meet client expectations.
Conducting on-site inspections when necessary.

What Are We Looking For? Key skills and experience of the successful candidate will include: Tertiary level qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering.
3 years plus experience in a consulting environment.
Strong communication and liaison abilities to engage with clients and other engineers.
Strong practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of applicable Australian Standards, Local Government Authority Standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
Exposure to developing structural design across a range of project cycles utilising relevant standards and best practice methodologies.
