Clinically rich supportive learning environment Potential future career opportunities Free parking and daily lunch provided We are currently accepting applications from students completing their Masters or Doctorate in Psychology who are interested in taking part in our Student Placement Program at Fulham Correctional Centre, located near Sale, regional Victoria. Students who engage in a placement at a GEO Centre participate in a broad variety of activities designed to provide practical experience and understanding of the role of psychology in the correctional environment. A student's level of participation in psychological activities will be dependent on the following: Your level of previous placement experience (if applicable) Your placement learning objectives GEO's service delivery model The prisoner/inmate cohort (sentenced/remand). During your placement you will participate in various areas. These areas may include: Observing team members and their immediate supervisor in their ordinary assessment, testing, intervention and prison interface roles Completing various forms of assessment Administering psychometric tests (subject to test administration qualification requirements) Providing various types of individual and group interventions (ordinarily cognitive behavioural and solution-focused in nature and complimented by motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, experiential activity, interpersonal and family systems therapy) Completing various forms of treatment plans and reports Attending case consultation and case review meetings Taking part in team meetings Participating in professional development and training activities Participation in individual and group supervision Undertaking administrative duties Facilitating staff training Facilitating community agency referrals and linkages Who we are: Fulham Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group in Australia and is one of the leading providers of privately-managed correctional services in Victoria and NSW.
