JOB DESCRIPTION Wood is recruiting for a Subsea Construction Engineer specialising in Seabed Intervention to join the team on a long-term contract basis supporting in the planning and execution of offshore project seabed intervention scopes, including nearshore dredging, trenching, sandwave rectification/pre-sweep, and rock-dumping.
This role will be based in Staines with some hybrid working available.
We can also consider candidates from elsewhere in the UK who are willing to travel regularly to Staines/Sunbury.

The Role The Subsea Construction Engineer - Seabed Intervention will take on responsibilities relating to the planning and execution of the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) offshore project seabed intervention scopes, including nearshore dredging, trenching, sandwave rectification/pre-sweep, and rock-dumping.
It is necessary that the person taking on this role has the relevant experience performing a similar role within contractor/subcontractor organization, to ensure ability to provide specialised technical oversight.
Responsibilities for managing these scopes shall span across three separate EPCI contracts (EPCI1, EPCIC2 and EPCI3).

RESPONSIBILITIES Typical Responsibilities Reporting to the offshore construction manager and the EPCI construction leads.
Acting as the focal point for all seabed intervention execution works, ensuring sufficient engagement from the engineering discipline on seabed execution documentation and offshore operations.
Provide execution input to the engineering discipline lead development of the contractors' seabed intervention design including participation in design reviews.
Oversight of construction deliverables and installation engineering and liaise with the contractors' seabed intervention execution team and be responsible for the coordination of all clients comments to contractors' execution documentation.
Validate that the contractors' proposed tools to execute the seabed intervention works are fit for purpose, incorporating relevant lessons learned from previous industry-wide experience and identifying risk and barrier management.
Participate in contractors' constructability reviews and HIRAs.
Ensure clients SME input & alignment on marine, diving, & ROV aspects.
Provide relevant input into management of construction interface and SIMOPS management, including identification of synergies across EPCIs to enhance operational efficiency.
Support implementation of the readiness process for construction activities - own readiness for seabed intervention specific campaigns.
Assist with competency assessments of CRVs for seabed rectification campaigns.
During the offshore campaign, provide support to the clients offshore execution lead.
Deployed offshore as a technical rep to provide support to the CVRs on seabed rectification campaigns.
Implement safety, sustainability and collaboration charters.
Support clients Self Verification - Functional Reviews, EPMR's and PHSSERs.
Support construction manager's responsibility for performance against construction cost and schedule - ensuring implementation of clients oversight in line with the Procedure for Sand Pre-Sweeping & Rock Placement Capex Driver Mechanism.

Expected: Proven experience in Subsea Construction.
Proven experience performing a similar role within contractor/subcontractor organization, to ensure ability to provide specialised technical oversight.
Experience working as a focal point on a project.
Previous role working offshore and willingness to travel offshore.
Desirable: Chartered engineer status preferred.
