The District of Saanich has been a climate action leader for many years.
In 2019 the District declared a climate emergency, shortly followed by the approval of an ambitious and award-winning Climate Plan.
The Sustainability Division leads this work and we have spent the last four years actively and collaboratively implementing the Plan and monitoring progress.
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a permanent, full-time Sustainability Planner who will support the implementation and on-going management of a broad range of projects and programs that deliver on our Climate Plan goals and targets.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a wide range of fantastic internal and external stakeholders; provide analysis and technical expertise on various climate projects; lead our climate communications, monitoring and reporting; coordinate contractors/consultants and related budgets; and demonstrate project management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
