We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer - Womenswear FTC managing one of our largest portfolios in Smart Suiting/Tailoring to join Target's team! In this role, you will demonstrate your passion for creativity to deliver a cohesive product range aligned with the Target product aesthetic and quality strategy.
This entails working collaboratively with key stakeholders to create and deliver a customer-centric product range.
Identify, interpret and implement global and market trends to grow sales through great looking everyday products for a modern, relaxed lifestyle, articulated through effective communication (visual and verbal) and a high level of presentation skills.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Trend forecasting Identify, interpret and implement trends using global trend and market research to add value through design and sales in line with Target handwriting.
Visually articulate and effectively communicate the direction for the season.
Present trend forecasts effectively, including research to support trends.
Maintain strong aesthetic taste and have an eye for the next trend that is commercial and can be bought in volume.
Print and pattern Identify, interpret and implement global print and pattern trends.
Develop commercial, customer-focused print and pattern that best reflects Target's handwriting and taste level.
Create accurate and effective production art which delivers desirable print and pattern.
What are we looking for? We're looking for an experienced, collaborative, and passionate Senior Designer who is obsessed with fashion retail and ideally has a strong background in womenswear and apparel with a focus on designing petites, larger sizes, and maternity.
We are looking for someone who is driven and can identify, interpret and implement trends using global trends and market to add value through design and sales in line with Target's handwriting.
To be successful in this role: Tertiary qualification in Fashion Graphic Design, Textiles or Buying Minimum 7+ years of designing experience in a fast-paced preferably retail environment or supplier to DDS Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design A folio that demonstrates the ability to design products that are commercial and in line with Target Brand Aesthetic A technical understanding of product development, fabrics, garment fit & execution Solid knowledge of print types and limitations within print execution High level of aesthetic taste displayed in relation to colour, composition, materials, coordination, and execution Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with cross-functional senior leaders What will you get?
