Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEND Experience) Location: Bartley Green, Birmingham School Type: Primary School Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications Start Date: ASAP About the Role: A thriving primary school in Bartley Green is looking for a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a background in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team, supporting children to reach their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEND in the classroom.
Assist the class teacher with implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of SEND pupils.
Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported.
Track and report on the progress of SEND students, working closely with teachers, parents, and specialists.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging confidence and independence.
Promote positive behaviour and assist with any personal care needs.
Qualifications & Experience: Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or SEND-specific qualifications).
Proven experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A nurturing, patient, and positive approach to supporting children.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Desirable: Experience working within a primary school environment.
Additional SEND training (e.g., Autism, ADHD, speech and language support).
