Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEND Experience) Location: Birmingham, UK School Type: Primary School Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications Start Date: Insert start date About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant with experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our vibrant primary school in Birmingham.
You will play a key role in supporting our pupils, ensuring they have the opportunity to reach their full potential in an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities: Support students with SEND in their day-to-day learning, providing one-on-one and small group assistance.
Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored education plans to meet the needs of SEND pupils.
Foster a nurturing, supportive, and safe classroom environment.
Monitor and track pupil progress, communicating effectively with teaching staff and parents.
Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction among pupils.
Support the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and academic progress.
Qualifications & Experience: Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or SEND-specific qualifications).
Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
Desirable: Experience working within a primary school setting.
Additional training in specific SEND areas (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language).
