As part of the DBS Support Services contract, Ventia is currently seeking a Technical Data Analyst to join the team in our Cremorne Head Office in a full-time, permanent role operating from Monday – Friday.
The Business Technical Analyst (Data) will serve as a liaison between business needs and technical solutions, focusing on analyzing, designing, and implementing data solutions to meet business objectives.
The role requires strong technical skills in T-SQL, Python, and VBA, along with a good grasp of business processes and data management.
Key Responsibilities: Gather requirements from stakeholders.
Develop data models and generate insights for strategic decisions.
Maintain and manage critical SQL environments and database systems for Ventia's primary Defence Contract and other clients.
Develop and manage ETL processes, implement data quality checks, and optimize databases for efficient data integration and retrieval.
Provide support for incident management, service requests, and enhancements.
Automate and optimize data extraction, analysis, and reporting using T-SQL, Python, and VBA.
Document and maintain all relevant processes.
Build effective relationships with internal colleagues, external clients, partners, and vendors.
Support line-of-business services and information systems, including associated databases.
Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Architects, and other leaders using lean and agile methods.
Develop and implement APIs, automation, and other enhancements using relevant IT languages.
Key Skills & Attributes: Over 2 years of experience in data roles.
Current skills in systems languages – VBA, Python, Java, C++, HTML.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server stack including Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS).
Proficient with TSQL – including stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, etc.
Diploma or Higher Education (Information Technology) - Desirable.
You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as required by the contract.
