ABOUT THE ROLE The Career Medical Officer (CMO) plays a critical role in providing comprehensive medical care to patients across various departments at The Bays Hospital during the hours of 8pm to 7am, 7 days a week.
The Bays is a 100 bed hospital with 5 operating theatres, HDU, Maternity, Day Infusion and medical/surgical wards.
This position involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams, and contributing to the overall management and quality improvement of patient care services.
Key responsibilities of the role include: Provide high-quality medical care and treatment to patients, including diagnosing, prescribing, and managing medical conditions Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic testing Develop and implement individualized treatment plans on behalf of VMOs and in collaboration with patients and their families Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, standards, and regulations, including infection control and safety procedures Participate in emergency response across hospital ABOUT YOU The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes: Full registration as a Medical Practitioner by AHPRA with unrestricted practice ALS certification A minimum of 3 years of postgraduate medical experience Demonstrated competency with the management of High Dependency level patients Well-developed and referenced clinical skills An alignment with our ICARE values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence THE BAYS BENEFITS The Bays has excellent benefits for employees including: A friendly and professional team Maximum Not for Profit Salary Packaging benefits which reduces your taxable income (details via Advantage) - up to $18,550 per year Free on-site parking Staff discounted meals, on-site café with great coffee Discounted hospital charges for staff and their immediate family members Access to Fitness Passport for eligible staff - access to local gyms, fitness classes and pools at a discounted price Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - free resources for health, financial, career and wellbeing Flu vaccination program Employee referral program - $1,000 if you refer a friend from your network (conditions apply) Avoid the city commute by working on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula HOW TO APPLY Please forward a cover letter and resume via the link or directly to.
