Transportation Delivery Manager About the role: The role of the Transportation Delivery Manager is to support the Head of Operational Delivery with managing the service delivery for all operational transportation activities at Selwyn District Council. Here at Selwyn District Council, the Transportation Delivery Manager is responsible for ensuring that they provide: Technical leadership in the execution of the Transportation Portfolio, including contributing to the long-term and annual plan. Key support and advisor to the Transportation Asset Planning Manager, Head of Operational Delivery, and Group Manager Infrastructure & Property on Transportation matters. Relationship management lead with key stakeholders including Waka Kotahi, Community Groups, Focus Groups, NZ Police Contractors, and ECan. Strong leadership of all reporting to stakeholders. Technical mentoring of staff to build technical capability in the team. Contribute to the effective management and development of the Infrastructure & Property Group. About you: This role would suit someone who not only has strong technical capabilities but also has proven leadership experience. Someone who likes challenges, problem-solving, and who isn't afraid to answer the hard questions from the public and counselors alike. The successful applicant should tick most, if not all, of the following: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent. Chartered Professional Engineer or Washington-Accord Degree with 10+ years' experience specific to the Roading Sector. Extensive experience (10+ years) in leading a similarly sized functional area in a large multidisciplinary and complex organization. Excellent understanding of current policy, legislation, and environment for Transportation. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
