The purpose of the position is to repair the Blade Damages (FRP) at sites across Australia.
You will be part of an adventurous team travelling the country, working and living in many different climates as a specialised crew.
Your work will be integral to the upkeep and maintenance of our wind farms contributing to the continued world class leading renewable energy infrastructure for Vestas Wind.
All travel costs, accommodation, food and mobility are paid for along with being trained by some of the best technicians in the world.

Key accountabilities will include: Inspection and repair of blades and non-composite structures without delaying the project schedules.
Improving the quality and safety standards in all activities.
Becoming an expert in guiding projects and ensuring all tools and PPE are calibrated and inspected.
Responsibilities Supervise contractor's installation/handling of the wind turbine Blades & major components.
Act according to safety rules and quality procedures related to blades maintenance activities.
Guide and supervise contractors in following Vestas engineering standards of quality & HSE working requirements as required.
Collect factory acceptance test documents from the WTG's in relation to Blades and report non-conformities in the NCR system.
Accurately report the status of Blade defects and collaborate with Blades Engineering support in assessing the complexity of the repair.
Perform onsite composite and non-composite repairs within technical expertise limits while following internal maintenance procedures.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with all Project & Service site teams.
Motivate, Guide and optimise work groups to achieve the project objective in the most efficient manner.
Maintain operational requirements for the site Blade/fibre works during construction and maintenance phases, including repair scheduling, material/PPE planning, tooling requirements & repair execution in Liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Carry out all activities related to the blades maintenance processes to assure service level agreements and minimize service costs.
Undertake Blade inspections using a variety of methods (ground based/up-tower/UAV).
Assess and evaluate the operational level of the blades inspected, register results on maintenance information systems to assure the reliability of the information gathered and compliance of information reporting procedures.
Qualifications Solid background in the relevant composites industry.
IRATA qualifications highly regarded.
GWO/Blade training highly regarded.
Dogging/advanced rigging highly regarded.
All high-risk licenses highly regarded.
Competencies A focus on safety and quality.
Solid knowledge of Blade Materials, repair methods & manufacturing processes.
Able to read technical Blade drawings & specifications.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Ability to motivate teams in complex environments.
Clear verbal and written communication.
Experience with effective safety programs & procedures.
Relationship building with both internal and external contacts.
Ability to work in high-priority situations.
Knowledge in working with MS Office/SAP.
Good teamwork competencies and operational readiness.
Willingness to travel for long periods of time, often in remote locations.
Ability to work in heights and in extreme environments.
Able to take the initiative to achieve targets.
