For over 60 years, the Heart Foundation has been the trusted peak body working to improve heart disease prevention, detection and support for all Australians.
Their work has had a major impact on the survival rates of those suffering a heart attack and those living with heart disease, but they will not be satisfied until it is completely eradicated.
The Heart Foundation advocates to government and industry for increased funding and resources for heart health and builds community awareness around living a heart-healthy lifestyle through public health awareness campaigns, accessible information and resources while supporting health professionals in their work to prevent, diagnose, treat and manage heart disease.

Impact of the opportunity In this role, you will have the autonomy to shape the Trusts and Foundations program.
Reporting to a supporting and highly experienced Head of Philanthropy, you will collaborate on the strategy and annual business plans to grow revenue sustainably through building meaningful relationships with Trusts and Foundations.
This is a fantastic role for a passionate, motivated and hands-on fundraiser who has knowledge of the landscape of giving across Australia.
Responsibilities Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of the philanthropy strategy and annual business plans to grow revenue sustainably through building meaningful relationships with Trusts and Foundations, including PAFs.
Utilise grant prospect methodology to identify existing donors and new prospects and build a pipeline of long-term supporters to grow revenue.
Coordinate a grant calendar and manage a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, including prospective grants.
Develop genuine, sustainable relationships, implement moves management plans, and inspire them to make substantial philanthropic gifts to the Heart Foundation.
Identify specific areas of interest for trusts and foundations, develop funding proposals and/or compelling cases for support relevant to their areas of interest, and present these to donors.
Assist in providing strategies to engage the Heart Foundation senior staff in grant activities.
Provide considered revenue forecasts in consultation with the Head of Philanthropy reflecting projected activities.
Meet individual KPIs and contribute to team income targets as agreed in the annual business plan.
Skills and Experience: Substantial experience in grant submissions, Trust and Foundation relationship management and proven success with high value income generation in a not-for-profit environment.
Understanding of the donor cycle and demonstrated ability to secure philanthropic grants of high value ($100,000 plus).
Experience in segmenting donor lists and prioritising donor contact.
Superior written and verbal communication and active listening skills with demonstrated data analysis skills with the ability to research, profile, and qualify grant prospects, and to develop and implement relationship work and grant submissions.
High level interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders as well as proven collaboration and negotiation skills.
Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
Sound knowledge and experience with fundraising or CRM databases (e.g.
Raisers Edge and GEM Portal).
Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, continuous development, and knowledge sharing with the drive to make an impact across health-focused programs on a national scale.
