We would love for you to come join us at Bellarine Peninsula Corps! This role will specifically support the delivery of our Youth Group and Kid Zone programs within the Kids/Youth Ministry team.
The Kids/Youth Ministry Leader requires a high level of understanding on how to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of children and young people.
The Kids/Youth Ministry Leader mentors and coaches Team Members in their engagement, care and support for the younger generations, whilst overseeing the development and delivery of age-specific activities.
Key responsibilities: Oversee activities: With the support of Kids/Youth Ministry Team Members, bring passion and attentiveness to engage young people in group activities, managing group dynamics and individuals' needs.
Coordinate set up and pack up: Applying good organisational skills, guide and coordinate the team to ensure the room is set up to accommodate participants, and resources are available for each participant.
Ensure the team packs up the room neatly and safely.
Spiritual support: Provide an intentional grace-filled Biblical environment and deliver lessons based on the Bible and Biblical principles.
Mentor team members to ensure participants feel welcome and encouraged to explore their own spiritual journey.
Child safety: Keep children safe by always abiding by Salvation Army's child safe policies and code of conduct and ensuring the team is aware of their behaviour and obligations.
Qualifications and skills (desired/required): Commitment to the Christian faith and a good Biblical understanding.
Experience in group facilitation and working with young people.
Background check requirements: Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation.

Below is what is required for this role: As this role is a child-related role, it requires a Working with Children Check/Working with Vulnerable People Check.
As this role is leading others, a police check is required.
Time Required & Commitment: Ideally, Ministry Leaders would be available on a regular basis to provide reliable and consistent contact with the corps community.
Development opportunities with this role: This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in leading the facilitation of ministry, programs and group activity with young people, as well as an opportunity to mentor and guide a team.
