About the opportunity The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes and traffic management technology.
These changes will improve public transport in Melbourne's east.
Laing O'Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP.
Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria's traffic noise standards.
About the role We are currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join us on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance.
Key responsibilities Provide onsite engineering services and technical support for traffic management.
Exercise professional judgement in resolving traffic management issues.
Financial management skills including identification of cost efficiencies.
Reporting on traffic engineering performance and compliance.
Undertake risk assessments for Traffic Management Plans.
Ensure safety with compliant Traffic Management Plans during construction activities.
About you You will hold a relevant engineering degree and have experience in a traffic/civil role.
Proven experience leading large scale projects with high traffic volumes.
Demonstrate a safety conscious approach to your work, along with problem solving skills.
Lead collaboration between departments for project outcomes.
Your excellent communication skills are crucial for effective interaction with local authorities.
